Over 80 of the exquisite Iris Apfel's ensembles are currently on display at the
Peabody Essex Museum in Salem Massachusetts. Gah! We're dying to see this amazing collection. This lady knows color! She's the best at mixing clothing and large, chunky baubles. Ms. Apfel is not afraid to pair high end fashion with flea market finds. A woman to truly admire for her original sense of style and impeccable business sense.
Iris got her start in interior design and soon opened a textile company with her husband called Old World Weavers. They created the most amazing textile pieces for the likes of Dorothy Draper, Marjorie Meriwether Post, and Estee Lauder.
But, it is Iris' unique sense of style that keeps her in the spotlight today. Here are some of our favorite looks. Photos courtesy of the
Peabody Essex Museum, Oprah Magazine, and the Daily Telegraph.
If Iris were to ever visit our shop (gasp!) we imagine she might be drawn to these great, colorful bags.
